After our history seminars, Rita found really interest and curious this comparison… So she start to do more researches and try to find more similiraties in these two subjects which in the first appearance look so differents…

Santa Maria del Fiore – Brunelleschi

Guillaume Dufay wrote the motet Nuper rosarum flores at the consecration of Santa Maria del Fiore. (6:4:2:3)

If we observe the structure of the florentine cathedral we find again this numbers: the modularity is given by the 28 arms, the nave consist in 6 modules, transects of 2 moduls each for a total of 4,the apse of 2 modules, and 3 module separete the ceiling from the dome.Back then the 6:4:2:3 pattern already seen in the motet.
